Juggler Number 15 - Luke Wilson

May 7th, 2007 - Comments Off

I’ve received the fifteenth signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

Luke Wilson

Luke Wilson is a skilled Juggler, Magician and really rather classy entertainer! He’s performed all over the world, has a lot of very interesting things to say about juggling technique, juggling culture and juggling history. If you ever get a chance to attend one of his club juggling workshops, take it. Your brain will hurt for days!

You can find out more about Luke from his website - www.lukewilson.de

I’m trying to track down some footage of a segment that Luke recorded for MTV recently, based around him making a cup of tea. If anyone has the broadcast footage of the segment let me know!

I’ve talked to Luke a fair amount about this project, and he’s of the opinion that I’m trying to make it too easy. I’m inclined to agree with him, and I’m feeling a little bit guilty about the somewhat naive approach Ive taken to the realm of collecting.

I’m thinking more about this topic and will probably flesh out a full blog post just on this subject!

Juggler Number 14 - Luke Burrage

I’ve received the fourteenth signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

Luke Burrage

Luke has already been featured as part of Juggler Number 6 (Luke and Pola)

Although as this is a different photo, representing a different act - and strictly speaking last time I featured him it was with Pola (who counts as a juggler in her own right!) - I think I can just about get away with it under the rules.

Just.

Juggler Number 13 - The Curious Eyebrows

April 27th, 2007 - Comments Off

I’ve received the thirteenth signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

The Curious Eyebrows

I was extremely happy when I opened my post and found this photo, mainly as I’d forgotten I’d given Stuart my address at the BJC. Stuart’s on the left, Winston is on the right.

I’ve been a fan of the Curious Eyebrows ever since I first saw them perform at the Bristol juggling convention some time in the late 1990s. They’ve got what can only be described as a “unique brand of sillyness!”

They don’t appear have a website as such, but if you want to get hold of them you can probably reach them through one of the following agencies:

Auroras Carnival
Larger Than Life

As a side note, for my 18th Birthday in 1995 I was given a framed cartoon of a juggler by my friend Naomi. It’s hung on my wall ever since, and it was only about a year ago that I found out that it was drawn by Winston - perhaps I’ll get him to sign it at some point!

I’ve received the twelfth signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

Topper

Unfortunately I didn’t get to talk to Topper at BJC, so didn’t get to thank him in person.

His photo made it to me via Mike Armstrong (of TricksWithHats fame) as I was in a motorway services on my way home when he signed the photo. Thanks Topper, it’s great to have you in the collection!

For more info, you can reach Topper through his website www.topperispink.co.uk

Juggler Number 11 - Merlin

April 25th, 2007 - Comments Off

I’ve received the eleventh signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

Merlin

Unfortunately I don’t know an awful lot about Merlin. I was given her photo at the BJC in nottingham, where she performed as “Wonder Woman” in the “British-ish cabaret” on the Thursday night. I didn’t get a chance to talk to her, and can’t find anything on the internet about her :-(

If you’ve got some more information, or a link to her website (or an agency she can be reached through!) please get in touch and I’ll update this entry.

Update:  The Void has offered www.circusstarcabaret.com  as a link which has some minimal information about Ms Merlin - any more for any more?

Juggler Number 10 - Jason Kollum

I’ve received the tenth signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

Jason Kollum

Hurrah! We’re in double figures, 10% of the way there! And it’s all thanks to lovely people like Jason Kollum!

But, wait a minute! Jason is much more than just a juggler, he’s a one man variety show!

Based in Chicago, he’s just as happy balancing a stack of 10 cigar boxes on his nose as he is spinning a ball on a childs finger. There isn’t a lot of video of him available on the internet, only this one showing off some of his down right studly ball spinning tricks! For more info about Jason and his incredibly diverse range of performance material, keep an eye on his website! www.jasonvarietyshow.com

Juggler Number 9 - Dream State Circus

I’ve received the ninth signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

Dream State Circus

Sophie and Jacob of Dream State Circus perform some of the smoothest acroballance I’ve seen in a while. Combined with a comedy build up they’re a real hit on the street, at festivals or at any event you care to mention! I first saw them perform at the Bristol juggling convention about 3 years ago, where they really shook up the way that the annual fire show was run, and turned it into a very memorable event.

Thanks Sophie, thanks Jacob, you’re both stars!

Juggler Number 8 - Mark Nizer

I’ve received the eighth signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

Mark Nizer

Yes, it’s “The Juggler Your Mother Warned You About!” - Mark Nizer - Winner of several awards (including two IJA medals) Marks comedy juggling act is phenominal! Combining high skill (5 ping pong balls juggled using his mouth, to name but one example!) with truly funny material - he’s well worth a look if he’s performing in a venue near you.

For more information about Mark, including photos and videos. Have a look at his website - www.nizer.com

Juggler Number 7 - The Void

April 19th, 2007 - Comments Off

I’ve received the seventh signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

The Void

I received this picture in the post, approximately 5 hours before I was due to see The Void at BJC. Quite why he posted it I’m not sure, he knew I was going to be at BJC, and he only lives about 7 miles from my house!

The Void is a true all rounder. If it can be juggled, he can juggle it. Especially if it’s pink. I’ve seen him compere shows, I’ve seen him do walkabout and street performance. I’ve seen him perform routines with hats, cigar boxes, yo-yos, clubs spinning balls and goodness knows what else!

He’s a bit like the A-Team. If you have a juggling problem, and no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire The Void team.

Juggler Number 6 - Luke Burrage and Pola Brändle

April 18th, 2007 - Comments Off

I’ve received the sixth signed promotional photograph of a juggler!

Luke and Pola - The Art Of JugglingLuke and Pola - The Art Of Juggling

Strictly speaking, that’s two jugglers! Luke and Pola are a lot of fun, some of you may know them from their Juggling Podcast which is pretty much the most entertaining Juggling Podcast out there!

Working together, in their “Art Of Juggling” show, Luke juggles hats, balls, clubs and rings while artist Pola Brändle captures his image with her live performance painting. Sometimes Pola joins in with the juggling… and sometimes Luke is forced to do some painting.

For more information about the act, including video and photos of their performances, see www.lukeburrage.com
